  • Groups of 3 are involved at a time and start on cones 1, 2 and 3 (any others line up behind). Limit numbers to 6 players per pocket or there will be too much inactivity. You may mirror this drill in the various pockets over the ground.
  • Although the diagram looks complicated, the summary of possesions is: (A) has 3 kicks and 2 handball receives, (B) has 2 marks and 2 handballs, (C) has 1 mark and 1 kick per turn.
  • Player (A) on cone (1) has the ball and starts by sprinting to the goalsquare, then turns and kicks to (B) who has lead infield from cone (2)
After kicking, (A) must sprint to get to the next contest.
  • (B) marks, backpedals and then hears kicker (A) running past, so handballs back to that player
    (B) must then sprint to the goalsquare after handballing to (A) in readiness for the next lead
  • (A) then kicks long to to (C) who has run hard from cone (3) to the wing.
  • (C) marks then plays on and wheels around in the opposite direction and runs until able to kick to (B) who has lead from the goalsquare
  • (B) marks and gives quick hands to (A) who has made front and square position since kicking to (C)
  • (A) runs in and kick the goal.
A helping hand/injured player can assist returning balls back to cone (1), otherwise goalkicker must retrieve ball
  • Players rotate 1 station after each turn. If there are 6 per pocket then the trio sits out and waits for the other trio to complete their circuit.
