Kick and Stand the Mark
  • Purpose
    Kicking into the person standing the mark is inexcusable as it often causes a turnover or a shot on goal opportunity missed. This drill makes players practice backpeddling quickly from the mark, as well as running to the next contest.

  • (A) runs and kicks long to a leading (B), then sprints after their kick
  • (B) marks and quickly backpedals away from the mark
    (A) has run forward and stands the mark for (B)
  • (B) kicks over the mark of (A) to the leading (C), then runs towards (C)
    (A) returns to the end of the line
  • (C) marks and quickly backpedals away from the mark
    (B) has run forward and stands the mark for (C)
