Place 4 cones (A) to (D) at 5m intervals just forward of wing. Stagger the cones so the cone with the worst angle (D in this example) starts closest to goal. Players line-up evenly behind cones, first player in each line has a ball.
Coach blows the whistle, first 4 players take-off and must kick the ball so it lands somewhere inside the 50m arc.
If the ball fails to enter the 50m arc, the player must kick it again (off the ground is OK) until it's inside 50.
Accurate kicks that land just inside the 50m arc can be picked-up and kicked quicker.
The 4 kickers then sprint after their kick, pick up the ball, and kick a goal. The first to kick a goal wins the heat.
An assistant or injured player can help determine the winner and retrieve balls.
Losing 3 can optionally be penalised with push-ups/sit-ups/burpees etc, then watch and support the remaining players
Once everyone has been through the first heat, you will have from 4-10 winning players remaining. Have a maximum of 5 in the final (ideally 4), so if there are 6 or more finalists, halve the remaining players and have 2 semi-finals.
Shift the cones and repeat the exercise starting from a different angle and/or distance from goal.
