  • Divide players into two even teams, one batting and the other fielding. Create a baseball diamond. For seniors place homerun arc cones 20m beyond the 50m arc either side of the square, ensuring the last cone is in-line with the diamond. For juniors place homerun arc cones just beyond the range of a long kick from the goalsquare.
  • The same rules apply as baseball, however players kick the ball as though kicking-in from full back. Players must make their way around the bases an attempt to score a home run.
  • The diagram shows an example play. 'Batter' (A) kicks-in from the square. Their kick must land inside the field of play and they must run to first base. (B) 'fields' on the bounce and kicks to first base where (C) has run to mark.
  • A home run is scored if the kick travels beyond the home run arc (either on-the-full, or bounces)
  • A player is 'out' when:
Their kick is caught on the full, or their kick is 'foul', ie goes outside the playing diamond
Their body is touched by the football in between bases
A player has the football on the base they are running to
  • Other rules:
Players on bases must wait for (A) to kick the ball and cannot steal bases.
Players on bases must run if bases behind are loaded
If the ball is caught, players who had advanced must return to their original base
  • Change batting and fielding sides after 3 outs. Retain same batting order each time. Keep score of home runs.
